I kicked butt in cycle class today! Got up to 140 rpm on the bike. Never went that fast before. I like the instructor and the music choice. Think I gonna make this a part of the routine. Finding new fitness challenges, so I don’t get bored. Gotta keep the calorie count up. It’s a daily journey.

Great cycle class today… Got 12 miles in. Did some strength training and lifting. Trying to lift heavier. Feeling great. Best prescription for the blues is a good workout.

One of the shirts I first started working out in in 2011. When I started, this shirt was too small for me, my arms were bursting the sleeves and it barely fit over my rolls. I judge my progress based on how baggy it fits. Means more than numbers on a scale.

Finished. 4 mile run. Running outside is so much different from running on the treadmill. The city is alive at dark thirty and it’s energizing to be a part of that. I love running in my neighborhood… It’s gorgeous! #longbeach #consistency #occupythegym #faith #focus #fitness

This is my favorite time of day… It’s when I take a self assessment, focus on what needs to be done, and how I will execute. It’s quiet time. Time to go to the gym and work on my consistency and discipline. These are the two greatest tools of success.

Gearing up for a morning run and I’m looking for new music to run to. I’m feeling Beyoncé – Grown Woman. That song goes hard. Look for a new #occupythegym mix from me soon…

  • NIKE FUELBAND IS MY NEW FAVORITE TOY.

Thanks to my Bro, I’ve been using the nike fuelband to motivate myself and track calories. There’s a few things I dispute, but it’s a fun toy. Turns every workout into a video game. Much better than the bodybug. I do like all of the cool motivational awards and tools.  These make you wanna move to get to the next level.  I also love that you can check in on what your friends are doing.  There are a few folks that inspire me to do more.  If you’re on the nike fuelband or nike +, friend me. I’m Porsche T.

Cons: I don’t like that it doesn’t track exercises like cycling well.  Anything where you don’t move your arm doesn’t always register.  They’ll allow you to edit, but it just seems like cheating. Overall, it is definitely a cool toy and will get me up and about.  At the end of the day, that’s what’s important.
