I stumbled onto this great entertainment FB page, Hollywood As I Live and Work. As luck would have it, they were doing a Tron Swag giveaway. If you read my blog, you know I have a fascination with all things TRON, so I put in an entry. I’m been silently hoping to win all week, so imagine my joy when I got the prize! I’ve been watching all season and finally felt like writing my thoughts. Here’s my take…SPOILER ALERT. WATCH THE EPISODE B4 YOU READ!
I can’t believe Jax almost left his son, after all of the drama and death the club dealt with to get him back. Gemma is the most gangster woman on the planet. She will not take no for an answer. The nun was about 5 mins off of a bullet if she didn’t give up the goods. When Jax is willing to fold at every turn, she’s right there to breathe fire back into him. Family means more than anything to her. Glad they FINALLY get the baby back. Now, let’s hope they all make it home safe. I don’t trust Stahl. Just not sure how this is all gonna come crumbling down around Jax, but she’s definitely not on the up and up. I am glad she saw the bigger picture when it came to helping the club get Tara back. I’m so sick of Salazar and his bullshit kidnapping. I can’t wait for him to get smoked. Tara is cold in her own right. Slicing Salazar’s old lady was gangster. I woulda killed dude when he was crying over his girl in the bathtub tho. 2 shots to the head woulda done it. Looks like she might get herself killed playing doctor after all. Glad the sheet is coming off of Hale. The double cross on the chief was cold game, but I saw it coming. I hope he gets tossed in jail and anally raped repeatedly. This seems likely, now that Lumpy’s dead. Once they catch up with Salazar, make him talk and he spills it all. He already demonstrated his rodent like qualities. Jimmy O’s time is running out…I don’t think he’ll make it back to the states alive, but Jax has to keep him alive to protect his deal with Stahl. I definitely didn’t like how they tried to absolve the priest of his bullshit at the end of this episode. Who gives a shit if Jimmy kills him? All of this drama is his fault. All he had to do was give the baby back and most of the people killed would still be alive. Let’s tally up the body count: SAMBEL lost half the chapter, including their president, 2 innocent parents were killed, and 2 of the priests closest men were killed… All in the name of the “Greater Good”. Sanctimonious Nonsense. I hope his kidnapping ass ends up with a bullet in the back of his head, but I’m sure there’s some unwritten rule about killing a priest on TV. Christ.

Great marketing strategy…this takes product sampling to a whole new level!

The trailer for this movie had me dying, and as a creamy crack addict, I can’t wait to see it. I think I got my first perm when I was about 12. Wait, make that about 7, if you count the Jehri Curl. I was happy because it meant an end to ear burns (or so I thought). I’m happy this film came along, because someone needed to tell the story of the black woman’s self mutilation on the road to an “americanized” standard of beauty. I feel somekindaway about this poster tho.

I just stumbled upon the great question, “How is the Recession Affecting You?” Here’s how the recession helped my get perspective. Ever since I was a kid, my dad mapped out my plan: Get Good Grades —> Go to College —-> Get a Good Job—>Retire. I never thought of these as hard things to do, it just simply was my reality. Degree from UCLA? Check. Good job at Adidas? Check. After 8 years at the brand I loved, I finally realized there’s more to life than what I had achieved. I grew weary and ill in the process of working for them and I knew it was time to focus my energy on myself, my company, my life.

The first person I told was my dad. His immediate response was, “You’ve got to get another job.” Not exactly the encouragement I was hoping for. But to be honest, it had been like that my whole life. He was there to catch me if I fell, but never encouraged me to leap. This time was different. I fought my case like the trained attorney I once wanted to become. I showed him my evidence: The markets were tanking, he’d just lost thousands of 401k dollars, so he knew that all a job could do was deliver stress and a weekly check, not a guaranteed future. Don’t get me wrong, a steady income is nice. But, I knew that working for myself, I had no limited income. I had the flexibility to work as much or as little as I chose. If I could go as hard as I did for the 3 stripes, but this time on behalf of my own brand, I would win big time. I had already built a small clientele of people that loved my work. All that was waiting was the leap. The Leap of Faith that says, “God Believes in Me, I Believe in Myself and so should You.”

So, I jumped. And hit the ground running! I feel like a kid again…I love what I do, and if I want to take a day off to play, I can. In fact, last Tuesday, I went on a ride while the rest of the city stayed inside. And then, I came home and worked until 4am. Sure, there are lean months, but there are flush months too. Nothing feels as good as answering to no one but my customers. Every time I hear Beyonce say, “Where yo boss at?”, I smile a little on the inside, because I am a BOSS.

So, yeah, I’m balling like it’s RECESS. Anyone want to play?

been away for awhile…I was in mourning over Michael, but he would want the show to go on. So, in his honor, I’m living my life like it’s Golden! My and I have been taking advantage of the summer, with rides along the coast, breakfast at the beach, and hitting a couple of night spots. I’m trying not to turn into a hermit. Seems like I sequestered myself for over a year and a half. Slowly, I’m getting my shine back. It’s not easy to do, I must admit. Sometimes, it’s just easier to stay home and be stagnant. You can get lost in the digital world and forget about life happening all around you. But lately, I’ve been feeling the need to LOG OFF.

So, here I am, staking my digital claim and like Kid Fury says, keeping it cute. Now’s the time for random flicks…
