On Repeat | Black.Girls.Rock! – Res
For those may not know Res, you’re in for a treat. Her 2001 ground-breaking album, “How Do I”, helped to redefine music, placing her as a pioneer of the Alternative Genre. That’s a fancy way of saying, you can’t pidgeon hole her. Since then, she’s released a new album, “Black.Girls.Rock!”, featuring her fresh, and melodic sound. It’s been a long time since she’s released a solo project, and this one is certainly worth the wait! Never being afraid to push boundaries, the album is hard to shove into any one genre. So don’t even try, just enjoy it. Take a listen and tell me what you think.

Sidenote: Funny how life works…I met Res years ago while pushing sneakers. She was and still is one of the most special and down to earth people I have ever met. I recently had a dream of her rocking stadiums…maybe it was a glimpse into the future.
